Notes regarding Atlantis...
Atlantis is a graphic novel based upon the character Captain Newfoundland A.K.A. Captain Canada, Odin. Boris Vallejo provided three illustrations for the front and back covers and one interior illustration. The comic strip artwork was provided by Filipino artist Danny Bulanadi.
Watch this youtube video for more details.. The character first appeared as a comic strip character within a 1979 edition of the Newfoundland Herald a publication owned by eccentric businessman Geoff Stirling.
Stirling's intention was to create Canada's first enlightened Super-Hero, weaving his own personal interests in eastern mysticism and new age philosophy into the publication and characters storyline.
A sequel The Legend of Captain Atlantis appeared in 1989 adorned with a Boris Vallejo cover, the paintings signature has been cut off in this image but can clearly be seen in this youtube video.
