Chess King was a men's clothing retailer based in the USA. Founded in 1968 by the
Melville Corporation. It had, by the mid-1980s grown to over 500 stores, however after a long decline the
chain was forced in close in 1995.
During the glory years Boris was tasked with producing advertising
artwork featuring models attired in Chess King clothing. Below are examples of this artwork.
Boris and Julie worked together on a series of images for the Chamber of Fear advertising campaign
commissioned by Nike. The series of Adverts were distributed in various media forms and developed for
nikebasketball.com. The Chamber of Fear was a combination of video game, pop culture, and RPG gameplay to
promote the soon-to-be NBA sensation Lebron James. Boris and Julie continued their association with
Nike producing Without Fear to celebrate womens participation in sport.

created by compositing various elements onto a pre-painted backdrop. A technique Boris and Julie have
explored many times in the past.
'Answer the Call of the Wild' was an integrated advertising campaign promoting the Wolfthorn and
Hawkridge Old Spice products for Procter & Gamble in 2013. The strapline of the campaign changed from
'What Courage Smells Like' (featured in the 2012 Swimsuit Issue of Sports Illustrated) to 'The
Scent Of Courage'.

Axe or Lynx deodorant is marketed by the Unilever company based in London UK. Aimed at young males, it is
sold under the brand Lynx in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Malta, Australia, New Zealand and China.
