The Atlan Series written by Jane Gaskell, consists of five titles set in the mythical land of Atlantis which for the purpose of this series is located in pre-historic South America. The stories are viewed through the eyes of its graceless heroine Cija. The last book in the series (Some Summer Lands), is narrated Cija's daughter, Seka.
There are over one hundred titles in this series, written by various authors and published by FASA Corporation and later by ROC. The fictional BattleTech universe is set in the 31st and 32nd centuries where planets war between themselves utilising mechanical fighting robots. There are ten titles in the series which bear Boris or Julies artwork on the cover.
The Berserker series written by Fred Saberhagen, is a series of seventeen short stories and novels based in futuristic space. Self-replicating machines known as Berserkers were created by two now extinct extraterrestrial races. Using their A.I. their mission is to destroy all life, overpowering their enemy by self-replicating as need must. Boris has painted six covers for this series.
The Bloodsong series of heroic fantasy novels written by Asa Drake. There are three books in the series and Boris has painted covers for all three.
The Book of the Gods book series by Fred Saberhagen includes five book covers painted by Julie Bell.
The Chronicles of Arianthem series consist of 7 novels. At the time of writing Julie bell has been commissioned for five cover paintings, it is entirely possible she may be commssioned to complete the set.
The Conan books are sword and sorcery fantasies featuring the character of Conan the Cimmerian originally created by Robert E. Howard. Over the years numerous authors have added completley new stories, now there are over fifty novels and dozens of short stories in the series. Conan has been painted many times by both Boris Vallejo and Julie Bell below are a few book covers featuring this enduring character.
Doc Savage (Clark Savage Jr) is a fictional character from pulp fiction comics of the 1930's and 1940's. Created by publisher Henry W. Ralston and editor John L. Nanovic at Street & Smith Publications. The character is portrayed as derring-do, multi-faceted, righter-of-wrongs.
Boris Vallejo's involvment with the Doc Savage character began with a commission for six book covers (books #83 to #88) from Bantam Books who had been reprinting all 190 of the Doc Savage novels since 1964
The Dragon Knight is a series of fantasy novels begun in 1976 by American writer Gordon R. Dickson. The first book, based on the short story St. Dragon and the George. Boris and Julie have both been involved in painting book covers for the series.
Written by Alice Chetwynd Ley, the irresistable Eversleys first arrived in the romance novel The Clandestine Betrothal. In total three books make up the series. Below are the three covers painted by Boris Vallejo.
The Firekeeper Saga is a series of books written by Jane Lindskold. The first in the series was the novel Through Wolf's Eyes currently the series is made up of eight novels. Julie Bell has painted covers for each of the titles in the series.
It was while studying wolves for these covers that Julie's interest in wildlife was re-kindled leading to her becomming widely acclaimed as a wildlife artist, just as much as a fantasy illustrator.
In 1934 King Features Syndicate required a comic-strip space-hero to compete with the already succesful Buck Rogers. After failing to secure the rights to John Carter of Mars from Edgar Rice Burroughs they called upon Alex Raymond to create a new character Flash Gordon.
In 1980, Tempo Books released a series of six novels written by David Hagberg. Four of the book covers were painted by Boris Vallejo (shown below) they are Massacre in the 22nd Century, War of the Citadels, Crisis on Citadel II, Forces from the Federation. I believe Ken Kelly painted the two remaining covers, Citadels under Attack, and Citadels on Earth.
There are thirty-eight titles in the very un-woke Gor series of novels written by John Norman. Gor is heavily influenced by the barsoom series of Edgar Rice Burroughs. Boris has painted seven covers for the series.
Since the 1950s onward, Ben Bova has become a reknowed writer of science fiction. His books are based on plausible science and engineering. The Orion series consists of four titles each graced with a Boris Vallejo cover.
Created by author Roy Thomas and first drawn by Barry Windsor-Smith, Red Sonja first appeared in 1973 for Marvel Comics. She is a fictional sword and sorcery comic-book superheroine, partially inspired by Robert E. Howard's character Red Sonya of Rogatino. Boris's involvment with the charcter begins in 1981 when commissioned by Ace Books for six book-covers, #1 The Ring of Ikribu, #2 Demon Night (1982), #3 When Hell Laughs (1982), #4 Endithor's Daughter (1982), #5 Against the Prince of Hell (1983), and #6 Star of Doom (1983).
The Saga of the Skolian Empire, informally called the Skolian Saga or Tales of the Ruby Dynasty, is a series of science fiction novels, novellas and novelettes by Catherine Asaro, revolving around characters from an interstellar empire known as the Skolian Empire and their power struggle with the rival Eubian Concord. The plot of the book unfolds over several generations of characters and revolves around political intrigues, but also contains subplots regarding physics, bio-enhancements, virtual computer networks, romance, mathematics, and military conflict as it is affected by superluminal space travel.
The Slaves of the Empire series written in the mid 1970's under the Nom de plume Dael Forest is a set of five gratuitous historical novels about life in the Roman Empire. The series consists of :Barba the Slaver, Haesel, the Slave, Brotan the Breeder. Gracus the Centurion, Corissa the Vestal Virgin.
The Star Trek franchise is as you might expect huge. Since 1968, more than 850 original novels, short stories, have been published. Boris has played his part painting many covers for the series. I would not be at all suprised to learn that the list below is not comprehensive.
Created by Edgar Rice Burroughs, Tarzan first appeared in the 1912 novel Tarzan of the Apes (followed by 23 sequels). The enduring character has re-appeared in innumerable works and other media's.
Commissioned by Bantam Books for twelve book cover cover paintings, Boris went on to produce a further two in order to complete the 1978 Tarzan Calendar. Since then, both Boris and Julie have produced several artworks inspired by the character.
TekWar is a series of science fiction novels first published in 1989 by Putnam, the original idea of actor William Shatner who apparently had the leading role in a long running science fiction TV series that one or two of you may have heard of? The stories themselves are ghost-written by American writer Ron Goulart. Below six covers Boris has produced for the series.
The series presently consists of five books, the first of which Indomitus Est was published in (2007).Only the first three books in the series bear cover-art by Boris, a different artist was used for the remaining two covers Indomitus Sum and Semper Indomitus.
Published between 2006–2019, The Sharing Knife is a series of romance/fantasy novels written by American writer Lois McMaster Bujold. Originally the series was titled The Wide Green World, however as the story length grew larger and larger it was decided to change the series with a new title The Sharing Knife containing five books bearing a one-word title. Julie Bell has painted four of the covers, the fifth, published as an ebook Knife Children (2019) does not have Julie Bell cover-art.
The science fiction series Timecop is set in the near future where time travel is regulated by the police. TV series, Films, and Video Games have expanded the franchise. In 1992 Dark Horse Publishing began the series with the publication of a three-part story Time Cop: A Man Out of Time.

The World of Tiers is a series of eight science fiction novels by American writer Philip José Farmer published between 1965 and 1993. Boris has painted covers for all except book #6 Red Orc's Rage first published in 1991. Two additional covers where used for the 1979 Science Fiction Book Club editions Volumes 1 & 2.
