This commissioned piece was one of four paintings depicting the biblical story of Moses parting the Red Sea. The same background is used for the painting B-103 Parting The Seas (1999).

Kala told of Felsa the fairy queen's epic struggle. The robbing of the Dar Trolls, the capture of great Mizion's battle sword, all of it she told, ending, of course, with the war between the Seven Kingdoms. Long did they fight, scarring the world, all seven kings desiring the same thing, to possess Felsa as their trophy.

Originally produced for the World Of Warcraft Trading Card Game: Heroes of Azeroth (Upper Deck Entertainment). This is card #175 Anika Berlyn used as a card in the Trading Card Game set. It is also featured in the Media Gallery section as card #058 Anika Berlyn.

Celtic mythology describes Pedrum as an evil spirit of the mountains who lived in the heart of rocks. He would emerge on rainy days and capture unsuspecting travelers, sucking them into the rock and crushing their bones. The souls of the victims added to his strength. Pedrum was eventually defeated by a gorgeous woman warrior named Ma-line, who was armed with an enchanted hammer. At the moment of his death, the surrounding rocks changed back into the people he had slain.

A private commission for a collector who gave Boris Carte Blanche on subject matter. He was delighted with this drawing as he happened to be a decendant of Frederic Remington, an artist famous for his depiction of horses.

Persephone as a young girl was playing and picking flowers along with her friends in a valley, when she beheld the most enchanting narcissus she had ever seen. As she stooped down to pick the flower, the earth beneath her feet suddenly cleaved open and through the gap Hades himself came out on his chariot with black horses. Hades grabbed the lovely female woman before she could scream for help and descended into his underworld kingdom while the gap in the earth closed after them.

Hades, the god of the Underworld, became embittered stalking the shadows among the Dead. But chancing upon Persephone he instantly falls in love. When her father Demeter disallows the marriage The heart-broken Hades abducts Persephone and descends back into the Underworld with his prize.

A painting that was 'just for the heck of it'.This lion in the Philadelphia Zoo posed so well that Julie felt obliged to do it justice. She had originally thought of adding a few fantasy touches to the lion but this seemed unnecessary.

This painting is the centerpiece of the 1992 Mythology Calendar. In ancient Greek folklore, a Phoenix is a long-lived bird that cyclically regenerates or is otherwise born again. Associated with the sun, a phoenix obtains new life by arising from the ashes of its predecessor.

If I am correct this is a portrait of Kitambi (now sadly deceased). He was born at the Columbus Zoo Nov. 1, 2011, and was resident at the Phoenix Zoo since 2012. He resided with 20-year-old female African lion, Cookie. Size: 18x24 inches

Pamati was one of the earlier goddesses to be created by the Supreme Goddess, Raltarnee. Pamati then made two beings to help her expand and reshape the rather small world given her. One was Phoneet, goddess of the air; the other was Shooshkram, goddess of the sea. Pamati reserved the rule of the land for herself, and she also kept the final say in the councils of the air, the sea, and the land.

Normally Boris would have used either Anthony or David Palumbo (Julies sons) to model the boy character, as they were both away, Boris used a friends son and himself as the models.

There are no clues as to the origins of this painting. Although the style is similar to that of a later commission for Cigar Press.

There is an impression that the chain is fragile enough to break if she tried hard enough, or that she could simply let go of it; but there is some strange reluctance, some link to the island that keeps her from trying. I am guessing that is piece is a study for a book entitled The Monster Men. It appears in Boris Book One and is is contemporaneous with this title. There is another study which bears the same title on it

This painting was commissioned by a client in the Ukraine. It was especially appealing to Boris and Julie because the client wanted to have a scene depicting an ancient Peruvian scene.

Xavier was crippled early in his superhero career during a clash with the alien Lucifer and has since operated from his famous wheelchair. For a while he abandoned the X-Men to go and live in space with Lilandra, the Shiar Empress.

A drawing modelled by Danielle Anjou as an illustration for Mirage, for which Boris created many original pieces for the book, the text was done by his first wife Doris.

This was a private commission from a client who had this specific theme in mind. Such commissions are rare but Boris and Julie are always happy to take them if other commitments permit. Prometheus was the ancient hero who stole fire from the gods to brighten human lives, but paid the price of being chained to a rock to have his liver chewed endlessly by a vulture.

Cover art for the Comic Prophet Volume 2, Issue #1 published by Image 1995. The fun thing about comics, Boris says, is that wild exaggeration is expected, even demanded. The extreme physical act.ion also makes for visual excitement.

Working with the model Josephine Maisonet allows Julie to achieve more realism in this pencil drawing. Pencil 11 x 15 inches.

This painting was done by Julie when A baby bison was born at the Lehigh Valley Zoo. Julie told the curators of the zoo that she wanted to do some paintings of the baby and they were really excited about it. They allowed her access to the area with the bison so that she could shoot reference photographs. A perfect pose arose when all of the adult members of the herd gathered around to protect the baby. Elizabeth Betsy Braddock is one of the children of Sir James Braddock, a champion from the Otherworld. Betsy developed mutant telepathic powers. As a telepath she served in S.T.R.I.K.E. Psi Division, until her path as a secret agent crossed with her brother's superhero activities.

This piece was part of a successful series promoting Chess King, a clothing retail chain.

The Punisher is a former war hero and marine who deserted and turned vigilante when warring gangsters wiped out his family in Central Park. His extreme methods often bring him into conflict with Daredevil and other heroes, but he is basically on their side.

The Punisher is a former war hero and marine lacking any special powers beyond his natural fighting ability, he compensates with a vast arsenal of weapons. His base is a converted truck disguised as a TV repair van.

This was painted for the 1991 Mythology Calendar appearing for the month of August. Artemis was the daughter of Leto and Zeus, and the twin of Apollo. She is the goddess of the wilderness, the hunt and wild animals, and fertility.

Not strictly speaking one of the X-Men, she is a leader instead of the X-Force, which many of them join when life gets too complicated elsewhere. The X-Force was founded by the original X-Men when the second wave of recruits joined. Some, like Cyclops, have since rejoined the team.
