Hyborian Gates is a card game released by Cardz in July 1995, a total of 450 cards make up the core set, which could be purchased as individual starter packs containing 50 cards which is enough to play the game. The additional 6 X Pyramid and 6 X Dimension cards required to play the game were included with the starter packs. Plans to expand the set with a Gatemasters pack never came to fruition. There were however foil wrapped booster packs of 15 randomly distributed Ultra Rare cards.
The core set is criticised for it's bad cropping. Each of the standard-sized cards is themed upon a detail within one of Boris or Julies paintings.
